Electronics Technician

Responsibilities:
- 1. Electronics Assembly and Testing:
- Assemble, test, and troubleshoot electronic components, subassemblies, and systems.
- Follow schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions to perform
assembly tasks.
- Conduct functional tests and inspections to ensure product quality and reliability.
- 2. Equipment Maintenance and Calibration:
- Maintain and calibrate electronic test equipment and tools used in the production and
testing processes.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions, and assist in arranging repairs or
replacements.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards during equipment use.
- 3. Diagnostics and Repairs:
- Analyse and diagnose faults or malfunctions in electronic systems and components.
- Perform component-level repairs, including soldering and replacing defective parts.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement solutions for complex issues.
- 4. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of assembly processes, test results, and repairs.
- Prepare reports on equipment performance, test outcomes, and troubleshooting
activities.
- Assist in documenting standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- 5. Quality Control and Assurance:
- Implement quality control measures to ensure the reliability and functionality of
electronic systems.
- Participate in quality audits and contribute to process improvements.
- Report non-conformities and assist in root cause analysis.
Qualifications:
- Degree/Diploma in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or
a related field.
- Hands-on experience in electronics assembly and testing
- Proficiency in using electronic test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes,
multimeters, function generators).
- Strong understanding of electronic circuits, components, and
soldering techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and
technical documentation.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with surface-mount technology (SMT) assembly processes.
- Proficiency in using electronic design software (e.g., Eagle,
Altium).
- Familiarity with industry-specific standards and regulations.
- Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma principles for process improvement.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
